Entering Pharmacy Use Information When Filling a Flu Prescription
Pharmacy Use information, such as the date of when the vaccine was given, the time it was given, the route and more, can be recorded electronically through the Flu Module in Patient Centre on a workstation with a signature pad.
Entering Pharmacy use information electronically requires an electronic signature and requires access to a signature pad. If you do not have a signature pad, document this information on the flu injection consent form.
If you are interested in purchasing a signature pad, see our Signature Pad information page on the PTS Portal.
To enter Pharmacy Use information on a workstation:
- From the Flu Injection window, select the DIN that is being dispensed.
- Select Consent. The Flu Injection module opens in Patient Centre.
The Flu Injection module displays the following information:- Patient Consent - the patient consent section is greyed out and cannot be modified. If the patient has already completed the Consent Form, the information is displayed here.
- Pharmacy Use - additional information about the flu injection.
- In the Pharmacy Use section, enter the appropriate information. This information can be viewed at a later date. For more information, see Viewing a Completed Patient Flu Consent Form.
If the Lot # and the Expiry Date are added in the Pharmacy Use section, this information is printed on the hardcopy. The Lot # and Expiry Date can be automatically populated. For more information, see Automatically Adding a Lot Number and Expiry Date to Flu Prescription.
- Select Confirm. A Signature window appears.
- Use the signature pad to sign the Signature window.
- Select OK. The Pharmacy Use information is saved and the Signature window closes to the Flu Module window.
- Exit the Flu Module window and return to PharmaClik Rx > Flu Injection window.
- Proceed to Filling a Flu Injection Prescription.
If consent was not obtained electronically (i.e., a paper consent form was filled out), attach the consent form the prescription for audit purposes.
